Summer is peaking here at West Bend Country Club, and the temps have heated up. While some of you enjoy playing in the steamy weather more than others, we encourage all members to bring along plenty of water and sunscreen when getting out on the course. Speaking of that, to help with hydration we recently installed a new ice/water machine outside of the Pro Shop doors. Now golfers don’t have to walk to the Turn to fill up their bottles to begin their round.
We’ve been busy!
As you know there’s always something fun happening at the club. In Spring we hosted many events including the Men’s & Women’s Opening Days, an after hours mixer for the WB Chamber, the Women’s Breakfast Blender, and the Father/Child Tournament and Fishing with Pops. We also hosted the Evan’s Golf Outing and the Heritage Party for our Independence Day celebration in early July.
Mark your calendars
Two fun events are still to come this summer! On July 17, we’ll host the 2-Man Derby, a highly-anticipated competition for many of the guys. All you need to do is pair up with a partner. See the Proshop for details.
We also have two Nine, Wine & Dine events coming up — one on July 18 and one on August 15. Members and their guests are invited to play nine holes, drink some wine and then enjoy a dinner buffet in the clubhouse.
New faces
Speaking of the clubhouse, if you’ve been in, you may have noticed a lot of new faces. We have four new bartenders and a new cook. At the bar, we have Chase, Abby, John and Miranda. Nevaeh is our new pantry cook in the kitchen. She’s been doing a fantastic job with her new team on the kitchen line.
Employee of the month
And, please give a high five to Stephanie Mortl, our July employee of the month, when you see her. She’s been with us for nearly 3 years now and primarily works our lunch shifts. She’s always been one of our most reliable team members, and we’re so glad she is with us.
Need a meeting room?
Oh! One last thing. If you need a room for an office meeting, we typically have plenty of space to host daytime events. Evenings are available too for gatherings, small or large. And don’t forget about our new deck. It’s open, so remember to ask for deck seating when making your dinner or lunch reservations.
