Stay Sharp During the Long Cold
Soon, we’ll all begin to spend a whole lot more time inside during another Wisconsin winter. While there’s plenty of beautiful hikes to take outside during this time of the year, you’re probably not going to be golfing much.
At the West Bend Country Club, though, we’ll be setting up our golf simulator in the middle of December. Free for members throughout the entire winter, this activity is one of the best ways to keep your skills fresh when the temps drop. Keep in shape or work out the kinks in your swing to get ready for next year.
If you’re looking for anything else to do inside during these months, remember that our meeting spaces are always available for holiday parties!
From Parties to Golf, A Season of Success
The last several months have been a series of exciting events, from tournaments to nighttime glow golf sessions. While intense winds cancelled fireworks this year, our annual Fourth of July Heritage Party went off without a hitch and saw families coming together and having a blast with bounce houses and games.
In terms of golf, the Men’s Invitational in August saw an enthusiastic display of competition before ending with a relaxing, formal dinner on the final night. We crowned Joey Darrow and Maureen Herrmann as the best golfers in the men’s and women’s divisions of the Club Championship. Finally, our surprisingly warm and humid summer gave competitors a different type of autumn golfing experience during the Solheim Cup and Ryder Cup tournaments.

Turning Over a New Leaf
We hope you’re looking forward to the coming months because there’s a wealth of family friendly and adults only events happening. For those who like to partake in the finer things, the Annual Wine Festival (available to members, but guests are welcome) is coming up, where you’ll have the opportunity to taste dozens of wines and then get the chance to buy them at great prices for your wine lockers. At the end of October, we’ll also be hosting the Fall Harvest Festival on the patio.
On November 29, we’ll be hosting Santa’s Workshop, which will feature a load of family friendly activities and festive crafts. Then on December 14, the Holiday Champagne Brunch will be taking place. Finally, on Saturday December 27, get ready for the fun of NYE Casino Night, where you’ll enjoy the culinary delights of a formal dinner with casino games and live music to follow.
For Wine (and Whiskey) Connoisseurs
One of the bigger perks we offer at West Bend Country Club (outside of golf and our restaurant) is our Diamond Wine Society program. In the last few years, this program has grown from 20 to nearly 80 members. Featuring a number of perks such as great deals on wine and the ability to store wine at the club for convenience, this program is a sure-fire winner for those who wine and dine here often.
If wine isn’t your thing, maybe whiskey is? We also offer a whiskey club (which also features other premium spirits) where you can expand your knowledge of liquors while also tasting something new. It’s a perfect group or one-on-one activity for the winter time.

Staff Highlights Around the Club
Staying committed from clock in to clock out, our staff has been ensuring that members receive exceptional service at the pro shop and our dining facilities. We’d love to send out thanks to recent employees of the month, from Ben Bast in the pro shop to Mitchell McCaskill and Stephanie Mortl in dining—we appreciate your hard work!
Say Hello!
As many of our seasonal staff members are students and are heading back to classes, we’ve hired many new servers and assistants to work through the long winter. If you see any new faces, make sure you say hello and introduce yourself.
Incoming Construction, Heads up
Soon, we will begin construction on the second small deck and stairwell that exists in the Lakeview Dining Room, refurbishing it by using materials to match the deck we constructed earlier this year. We look forward to it!
